Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the duo, aged 28 and 35, were being sought to assist in the investigation into the armed robbery, in which the company lost nearly RM6 million.
He said four masked men armed with machetes arrived at the company’s office in a car at about 11am on Sept 13, before getting away with gold bars weighing 16.9kg and worth RM5.9 million.
“The two men were at the scene when one of the suspects hit and pointed a machete at one of the victims, while his accomplice took a bag containing the gold bars that was placed on the back seat of the company vehicle,” he said, according to Bernama.
Subsequently, five men and two women aged 27 to 60 were arrested between Oct 8 and 14.
The cops also seized two cars, cash suspected to be proceeds from the robbery, robbery tools, and jewellery.
Hussein said the suspects had sold some of the gold bars and used the cash to buy multiple second-hand luxury vehicles worth hundreds of thousands of ringgit.
“Two suspects were charged on Oct 17 in the Petaling Jaya sessions court, while four more will be charged tomorrow. Another one will be bound over as a prosecution witness,” he said.
