PETALING JAYA:
A 12-year-old girl reported missing from a flat in Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1, Klang, last Tuesday has been found safe.

Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said she was found at about 2.30pm yesterday, Bernama reported.

This success came after police scrutinised surveillance camera footage.

Cha said the CCTV footage showed the girl walking before she was seen getting into a black car. It was earlier reported the girl was sent by her mother to collect some food left in a car downstairs.

Following investigations, police arrested six Malaysians in Segambut Dalam, Setia Alam and Pandamaran at around 5pm yesterday.

The six, including two women, are aged between 13 and 24. One of them has a previous criminal conviction.

Police also seized a black vehicle believed to have been used during the incident.

Cha said police have classified the case under Section 363 of the Penal Code (kidnapping a person from lawful custody).

Anyone convicted of this offence can be jailed up to seven years and fined.
