PETALING JAYA:
Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak has called for action to eradicate activities by Global Ikhwan Services Berhad Holdings (GISBH) in the state because of its deviation from Islamic teachings and beliefs, says menteri besar Saarani Mohamad.

Saarani said the sultan’s call followed the review of a report prepared by the Perak Islamic religious department (JAIPk), Bernama reported.

“The report by JAIPk also identified several groups in Perak suspected of practising deviant teachings,” he was quoted as saying to reporters after attending the Sukma and Para Sukma contingents incentive presentation ceremony here last night.

“We will not remain silent. These deviant teachings must be eradicated thoroughly, as they concern matters of faith and religion.”

On Oct 4, Saarani was quoted as saying that JAIPk was preparing a report on GISBH to be presented to Sultan Nazrin, and that the state government plans to establish a special committee to rehabilitate the group’s followers.

He also said the issue will be discussed further at the upcoming National Council for Islamic Affairs (MKI) meeting for follow-up action.

“In addition to MKI, the Perak mufti department and JAIPk will be involved to ensure this group can be neutralised,” he said.
