PETALING JAYA:
Three in a family faced a harrowing time when an armed gang of 12 broke into their three-storey bungalow at Jalan Jagong, Pandamaran, Klang, yesterday.

Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said the masked robbers arrived in two cars at 5am, Bernama reported.

They climbed the wall and forced open the iron grate of the main door.

The robbers woke up the three occupants before tying them up.

They ransacked all the rooms and fled with cash, valuable deities and jewellery.

Cha stated that the victims, who estimated their loss at RM600,000, said the robbers were armed with parangs.

“During the robbery, one of the occupants managed to call the police at 6.16am and a patrol car was sent to the scene.”

By then, the robbers had already fled.

Cha said one of the victims, a 37-year-old man, was slashed on the left shoulder and received four stitches for his wound at Pantai Hospital in Klang.

He said police are intensifying efforts to track down the suspects, believed to be locals.
