
Khabib, a former lightweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) spent an hour with Anwar talking about various issues, from Islamic affairs to Palestine, before they had dinner together, joined by American human rights activist and law professor Khaled A Beydoun and Palestinian Olympic swimmer Yazan Al Bawwab.
Anwar paid tribute to Khabib, Khaled and Yazan for being inspirational Muslim figures who excelled in their respective fields while embodying the values of compassion and mercy.
Dagestani-born Khabib, 36, retired undefeated after 29 bouts in 2021 and was inducted into the UFC’s Hall of Fame in 2022. He is in Malaysia for the “Khabib Nurmagomedov Live in Malaysia 2024” event, which was held yesterday.
