According to Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan, a police team encountered the man in a car while patrolling Jalan KBK 4 in Kampung Baru Kundang, Rawang.

He said the suspect, a man in his late 30s with 26 prior criminal cases, attempted to flee by reversing his vehicle recklessly, ramming into both a police car and a civilian vehicle.

“Police then fired several shots in self-defence, causing the suspect’s car to crash. The suspect was hit, and was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The suspect was a local man with a criminal record of nine drug-related offences and 17 criminal cases, including 10 for house break-ins,” said Hussein in a statement.
