PETALING JAYA:
Two siblings on their way to visit their father’s grave were killed in a motorcycle accident along Lebuh SPA near Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka yesterday evening.

Amirul Hazlin, 18, and his sister, Nur Afiqah Sofea, five, crashed into a roro (roll-on roll-off) dumpster on the side of the road at about 6.15pm, Sinar Harian reported.

Their mother, Norizan Ujak, 40, was following them on another motorcycle and witnessed the incident.

Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said they were travelling from Ayer Keroh to Sungai Udang.

“The impact of the collision left both victims severely injured, and they were rushed to Melaka Hospital for treatment.

“However, doctors confirmed that Amirul died at 7.40pm, followed by his younger sister at about 12.30am,” he was quoted as saying in a statement today.

He said police have identified the owner of the dumpster and other witnesses.
