
He said this could be managed by rotating the officers on duty, preventing the public from waiting to be attended to for extended periods.
“I am directing all government service counters to remain open during lunch hours, with officers taking shifts to manage them,” he told reporters after the state government’s monthly assembly at the Melaka International Trade Centre today.
Separately, Rauf said the number of visitors and tourists to Melaka reached 10.16 million as of August this year, and attributed it to the Visit Melaka Year 2024 campaign.
He added that this success was also due to numerous state government initiatives, including the car-free zone initiative on weekends and the “Melaka After Dark” programme on the first Saturday of each month.
