Ex-deputy minister, Kuala Pilah MP Eddin Syazlee dies, aged 50

His death at his home in Bukit Chedang, Negeri Sembilan, was confirmed by state PN chief Hanifah Abu Baker.

PETALING JAYA:
Former Kuala Pilah MP Eddin Syazlee Shith died this morning, aged 50.

In a Facebook post, Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu expressed his condolences to Eddin’s family.

“His passing is a great loss to both Bersatu and the nation, given the dedicated service and contributions he provided in his lifetime,” he said.

According to Bernama, Eddin died in his home at Bukit Chedang, Negeri Sembilan, at 7.10am today.

His death was confirmed by Negeri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chief Hanifah Abu Baker.

Eddin was Kuala Pilah MP from May 2018 to November 2022.

He held the position of deputy communications and multimedia minister under the Pakatan Harapan government led by Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He was made a deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department during Muhyiddin Yassin’s administration and later served as deputy works minister.

Eddin was also deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of economic affairs in the Ismail Sabri Yaakob-led government.
