High waves force cancellation of 8 more Langkawi ferry trips

The operator says five of the trips were from Langkawi bound for Kuala Kedah, and three from the opposite direction.

Eight more ferry trips between Langkawi and Kuala Kedah were cancelled today because of high waves.

Konsortium Ferrylines Ventures’s general manager, Baharin Baharom, said 2,013 passengers were affected by the cancellation of five trips from Langkawi to Kuala Kedah scheduled for 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 2.05pm and 2.10pm.

Three trips from Kuala Kedah to Langkawi were also cancelled, affecting 937 passengers. They had been scheduled to depart at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.

Baharin said the ferries could not be rerouted to the Kuala Perlis passenger terminal because of congestion.
