PETALING JAYA:
MYAirline co-founder Goh Hwan Hua is among three defendants who have been ordered to disclose their bank account statements in an ongoing civil suit, according to lawyer Rajesh Nagarajan, who represents 15 of the plaintiffs.

The High Court today denied an application filed last month by defendants Goh, I-Serve Online Mall Sdn Bhd and QA Smart PLT to stay the execution of a discovery order.

According to Rajesh, the court said it found no special circumstances to warrant the stay and awarded the plaintiffs costs of RM15,000 in total.

The three defendants are to surrender their bank account statements to the plaintiffs by 5pm on Sept 26.

It was reported in June that 213 investors have filed a civil suit against Goh over an allegedly fraudulent investment scheme.

The suit names as defendants Goh’s wife Neow Ean Lee, a company Neow is a director in and 17 entities linked to Goh, including MYAirline.

According to the statement of claim, the investors have not been repaid the money they deposited in corporate entities under the I-Serve group of companies, over which Goh has effective control.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages for fraud, negligence, conspiracy and innocent misrepresentation, as well as exemplary and aggravated damages, all to be assessed by the court.

The trial will continue on Oct 14-15 and 21-23, and Dec 16-19.
