A collaboration of the district’s parliamentary service centre, the national unity ministry and the Sarawak tourism, creative industry and performing arts ministry, the festival will see a variety of activities, including a powerboat race, agency exhibitions and the official launch of the Kanowit waterfront, among others.
“This festival not only celebrates history and tradition but also honours the diverse cultures and contributions that have shaped our identity.
“From traditional dances to delicious local cuisine, every element of this festival reflects the richness of our unique cultural heritage,” national unity minister Aaron Ago Dagang said in a statement.
Organised yearly since 2003, the festival aligns with the national unity ministry’s “This Is Our Heritage” initiative, a core component of the ministry’s flagship programme “Kembara Perpaduan Malaysia Madani”.
