PETALING JAYA: The skeletal remains of an elderly man were found in his Kepong apartment, in Kuala Lumpur, last Thursday.
Sentul police chief Ahmad Sukarno Zahari said the 74-year-old man’s skeleton was discovered by his son who had come to check on him.
Sukarno said the retiree had been living alone after divorcing his wife and was last in contact with his family in 2020.
He said the man’s son found the door locked upon arriving at the apartment.
“After breaking open the door, he discovered the skeletal remains,” said Sukarno in a statement.
Sukarno said the exact time of death could not be determined, adding that the man’s remains had been handed over to his family for burial.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
