Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said he has ordered his men to monitor and keep members of the public away from the vicinity amid the ongoing search and recovery operation after a visitor from India fell into an 8m-deep sinkhole on Aug 23.
“Several agencies like Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Indah Water Konsortium are doing work there, so we don’t want their work to be disrupted,” he told a press conference here today.
“We don’t want anyone to go there to make TikTok videos. Please understand that this area is being monitored, so don’t endanger your safety.”
The search and rescue operation for Vijayaletchumy, 48, was called off on Aug 31, nine days after she disappeared, because of concerns over the search team’s safety and health.
Authorities have now moved to the search and recovery phase.
Separately, Rusdi said police seized 14.5kg of ketamine and 5kg of ecstasy during raids on two condominium units in Cheras on Monday. The drugs are valued at RM1.6 million.
Three individuals aged between 23 and 30 were arrested and will be remanded until Sept 9.
