PETALING JAYA:
Malaysia Airlines this evening confirmed that a Seoul-bound flight made a precautionary return to Kuala Lumpur early this morning shortly after take-off due to a technical issue with the hydraulic system.

In a brief statement, the national carrier said flight MH66 landed safely at KLIA at 1.30am local time today.

“The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority.”

Earlier this morning, it was reported that MH66 was expected to depart at 11.30pm but only took off at 12.01am.

According to Flightradar24, the flight was diverted back to Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Airlines subsequently cancelled its flight MH67 from Seoul, South Korea, bound for Kuala Lumpur today.

The carrier went on to say that all passengers on board flight MH66 and MH67 were provided with accommodation, and the former has been rescheduled to depart from Kuala Lumpur at 8pm local time.

The return flight has also been rescheduled to depart at 5.10am local Incheon time on Sept 3.
