KUALA LUMPUR:
The sessions court here has fixed 15 days in March next year to hear a corruption case brought against the son of former minister Hamzah Zainudin.

Faisal Hamzah is accused of receiving a bribe of RM100,000 from one Izmir Abd Hamid to secure the appointment of Rimba Merpati Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Per My Solutions as marketing consultants to HeiTech Padu Bhd.

The alleged offence is said to be linked to the purported award to HeiTech of a RM33 million tender by the Companies Commission of Malaysia for the supply, rental, implementation, training, support and maintenance of IT security infrastructure.

Judge Rosli Ahmad fixed the trial dates during case management today.

The trial will run from March 24 to 28 and April 14 to 18 and 21 to 25.

Another case management will be held on Feb 21 to finalise the trial documents.

Prosecuting officer Ikhwan Zaudii Nordin informed the court that the prosecution will be calling some 20 witnesses to testify.

Lawyer Chetan Jetwani appeared for Faisal.
