SEPANG:
An Italian man was charged in the magistrates’ court here today with stealing medicinal products from an outlet selling healthcare and beauty products at KLIA Terminal 2.

Maurizio Losi, 58, nodded after the charge was read out to him in English before magistrate Bukhori Ruslan. However, he told the court he did not understand Malaysian law.

No plea was recorded while the court set Sept 4 for mention.

Losi was charged with stealing RM80 worth of Fluimucila effervescent tablets and Gaviscon, which is for heartburn and indigestion, at the healthcare and beauty products outlet in KLIA T2 at about 5.20pm on Aug 19.

The charge, framed under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a building, provides for up to 10 years in prison upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Nur’ain Madihah Zulkifli appeared for the prosecution while the accused was unrepresented.
