Boy’s body found after house catches fire in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU:
An eight-year-old boy was found dead in a fire in a wooden house at Kampung Telisai, Tungku here last night.

Lahad Datu fire and rescue station chief Sumsoa Rashid said the body was found in a room by firefighters.

“Our station received a call at 9.46pm and a team of 15 firemen and a fire engine rushed to the scene, located about 55km from town.

“They put out the fire with the help of Felda Sahabat’s volunteer fire team. Three motorcycles were also destroyed,” he told Bernama.

Sumsoa said the cause of the fire was still being ascertained.
