PN to meet this week on draft MoU for opposition MPs’ allocation

Perikatan Nasional chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan had previously said the document will be presented to PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin and other senior leaders of the coalition for their input.

Takiyuddin Hassan had said a decision on the draft MoU will depend on whether the PN top leadership agrees to the terms or not.
PETALING JAYA:
Perikatan Nasional is set to meet this week to discuss the draft memorandum of understanding concerning the allocation for opposition MPs.

PN chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan confirmed that he has received the draft and that a meeting will be held to finalise the opposition’s decision on the matter.

“Yes, I have received it and will discuss it soon. God willing, (the meeting will be) this week,” he was quoted as saying in an Utusan Malaysia report.

Takiyuddin previously said the draft would need to be presented to PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin and other senior leaders of the coalition for their input.

“The decision will depend on whether they agree or not. If they disagree, we will discuss the issues and decide on the next steps,” he said.

Earlier this month, deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof said the draft MoU concerning the allocation for opposition MPs had been finalised and was ready for submission.

He also said a joint committee meeting will be held between the opposition and the government should PN agree to the terms of the MoU.
