
Kota Setar district police chief Siti Nor Salawati Saad said police were informed about the bodies of a woman and a girl discovered by the public at 5.04pm.
“An investigation revealed that the two victims, aged 34 and 10, were fully clothed and lying close to each other in a drain without any identification documents. Both victims had wound marks on their necks,” she said in a statement.
The bodies were sent to the forensics department of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here for a post-mortem, she said.
Salawati said the 34-year-old husband was apprehended at the Bukit Pinang mosque at 9pm and will be taken to the court here today for a remand application to facilitate further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
