Bukit Aman probing 28 reports against Muhyiddin in Pahang

The former prime minister is alleged to have touched on 3R issues while campaigning for the Nenggiri state by-election.

A speech by former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin, allegedly touching on the sovereignty of Pahang Sultan Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, during his tenure as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, had gone viral recently.
KUANTAN:
Pahang police have received 28 reports against Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin who allegedly touched on 3R (race, religion, royalty) while campaigning for the Nenggiri state by-election.

Pahang police chief Yahaya Othman said the investigation will be carried out by the classified crimes investigation unit of Bukit Aman’s criminal investigation department.

“So far, we have received 28 reports lodged in all Pahang districts,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.

The complaints were over a speech by Muhyiddin in which he had allegedly touched on the sovereignty of the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, regarding the formation of a government after the 2022 general election.

Umno vice-president Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail also expressed his disappointment over Muhyiddin’s speech in a Facebook post yesterday and urged the authorities to act against the Pagoh MP.
