Hanifulfuad Hussin, who is press secretary to the menteri besar, filed the report against the holder of the TikTok account Wan Mahussin Wan Zain, according to Harian Metro.
Kelantan PAS Youth chief Kamal Mohamad, who accompanied Hanifulfuad, said the menteri besar had stated in his actual speech that the state government had never exceeded the logging quota set by the national forestry council.
“We found that Wan Mahussin had edited the footage and used the voice of the menteri besar in a video about logging,” he said. The video suggested that the Kelantan government had allowed logging to be carried out in the state exceeding the quota.
Kamal said the doctored video was intended to tarnish the image of the state government and to sabotage PAS in the final days before the Nenggiri state seat by-election.
Voters in Nenggiri will head to the polls tomorrow. The by-election is a straight fight between Perikatan Nasional candidate Rizwadi Ismail and Barisan Nasionals’ Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani.
