Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said 12 people, aged between 20 and 40, are in custody in connection with the incident.
The rioting broke out following a misunderstanding over business and debts, Rusdi told a press conference here today after witnessing the handing over of duties to new Putrajaya police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed.
He said police have opened two investigation papers on the incident – one for rioting and the other for shooting.
“We are looking for the remaining suspects,” he said.
Rusdi said police initially arrested four men on Sunday in connection with the fight that broke out between a group of people at the entertainment centre. Three bullet casings and two live bullets were found at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted under Section 148 of the Penal Code and Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960, he said.
In another development, Rusdi said police were completing the investigation paper on the Malaysiakini report on the imminent transfer of senior police officers.
Statements were recorded from three Malaysiakini journalists on Aug 9.
