KUANTAN:
A housewife was found apparently strangled to death at her home in Indera Mahkota here yesterday afternoon, Kuantan police chief Wan Zahari Wan Busu said.

He added that the victim, 28, was found in her bedroom by her husband at 7.30pm.

“Prior to the discovery, the victim’s father, 62, had made a police report about her disappearance at 3.25pm yesterday when he couldn’t get in touch with her.

“She last sent a WhatsApp message at 8.30am the same day,” he said in a statement today.

He said the victim lived with her husband, a Chinese national who works as a factory supervisor, three-year-old son and an eight-year-old sister-in-law.

Wan Zahari said the victim’s body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for a post-mortem, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“The woman is believed to have been killed in the house.

“Following this, police have remanded three men and one woman, aged 27 to 62, all family members of the deceased, for questioning,” he said.
