PETALING JAYA:
Malaysia Airlines has apologised over a prolonged delay of its flight MH165 from Doha, Qatar, to Kuala Lumpur, that was scheduled to depart yesterday.

In a statement, the airline said it is working hard to resolve the issues related to its aircraft engine and is committed to minimising further disruptions to its operations.

“Passengers have been reallocated on flights offered by Qatar Airways, while some are being accommodated at hotels near the airport in Doha, with full board meal arrangements,” it said.

The airline also said the delay had affected subsequent flights, from Kuala Lumpur to Doha and back, scheduled today and tomorrow.

Earlier, a traveller shared a post on X that some codeshare passengers en route to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines were stranded at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport for more than 24 hours.

“I arrived here two hours ago. My flight has also been rescheduled to tonight,” said the traveller.

According to flight tracker Flightradar24, MH165 was scheduled to depart from Hamad International Airport at 8.05am local time yesterday but the flight was cancelled.

The website showed that MH165 was also scheduled to depart from the Qatar airport at 8.05am local time today, but the flight has been rescheduled to 9.45pm.
