PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a Form Five student on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female student in Taman Keramat, Hulu Kelang, last month.
Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said in a report filed last Tuesday, the victim claimed she was taken to the suspect’s house around 2pm on July 25, where she was sexually assaulted.
“The victim later informed her disciplinary teacher about the incident and filed the police report,” he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
He said the suspect was arrested in Hulu Kelang around 9pm yesterday.
It is understood that the 17-year-old boy and the 16-year-old victim, both from the same school, had known each other since May.
The suspect has been remanded for five days until Aug 15 to assist in investigations under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
