PETALING JAYA:
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will be offering special discounts on outstanding compounds for traffic offences and other general offences until Sept 30, in conjunction with the celebration of national month.

The special rate for traffic offences involving motorcycles is fixed at RM10 while cars, multipurpose vehicles and small lorries only have to pay RM20. The special rate for buses and regular lorries is RM50.

DBKL increased the compound rate in July, with new rates for motorcycles being RM30 for payments made within 15 days of the compound, RM50 for those made from the 16th to the 30th day, and RM80 for payments made from the 31st to 60th day.

For cars, the current compound rate is RM50 for payments made within the first 15 days, followed by RM80 from the 16th to 30th day, and RM100 from the 31st to 60th day.

For heavy vehicles, the compound rate is RM200 for payments made within the first 15 days, RM250 for those made from the 16th to 30th day and RM300 from the 31st to 60th day.

DKBL said the discounts do not apply to blacklisted vehicles.

It also said it has fixed a special rate of RM100 for general offences involving food stall operators, licences and others. However, this does not extend to foreigners.

The rate does not apply to offences under the Hotels (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 2003, Entertainment (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 1992, Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974, or those involving workers’ permits, either.
