
In a post on X, RapidKL said an initial investigation revealed the fire had damaged a track component and that its engineering team was on-site to conduct repairs.
“The fire and rescue department and police arrived at the scene at 10.15am to ensure safety and to monitor the situation.
“Alternative train services were activated to facilitate passengers’ journeys,” it added.
RapidKL said interim train services are operating between the Sultan Ismail and Sentul Timur stations, while trains from Ampang and Putra Heights will terminate at the Sultan Ismail station.
“For assistance, passengers are advised to contact station officers and auxiliary police personnel on duty and to check RapidKL’s social media accounts for the latest service updates,” it said.
RapidKL apologised for the inconvenience and thanked passengers for their patience.
In a later update, the company said that LRT services on the Ampang/Sri Petaling line returned to normal at 2.46pm.
