Chow said while Jagdeep was recovering and getting full attention from doctors, the state executive council yesterday agreed to extend his leave to give him extra time to convalesce.
He had previously granted Jagdeep 11 days leave from July 22 to Aug 5 after the Datok Keramat assemblyman sought treatment for separate ankle and skin problems away from Penang.
“I will meet his family members. I will tell them if he needs extra time to recover, they can write us a letter and it will be considered. We will give him as much time as needed until he is deemed fit to return to work,” he told reporters at Komtar here today.
Jagdeep previously told FMT he was in Negeri Sembilan to seek a second opinion for an ankle injury, which he said had caused him chronic pain for several months.
He said he was also seeking treatment in Kuala Lumpur for a recent case of psoriasis, a skin condition that causes flaky patches to appear across the body.
