Brickfields police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood confirmed receiving a report on the incident, filed by the bystander on Sunday.
“We are looking for him (the man who allegedly made the threats) and will call him to record his statement,” he told FMT.
Ku Mashariman said however police have classified the case as “no further action”(NFA) as there was no violence or injuries sustained by both parties.
He said police will look into all reports filed but an investigation paper will only be opened if there is evidence of a criminal act.
In the police report sighted by FMT, the bystander said he witnessed the couple arguing behind his car in the parking lot at 9pm on Friday.
“Suddenly, the man approached me and yelled at me. He also grabbed my hand and warned me that he would beat me up.
“I came to the police station to file a report over concerns for my safety and for further action,” said the complainant.
The complainant shared a video of the incident in a thread post on X yesterday, where the man is heard hurling expletives at him.
“I’m very close to hitting you. You do not tell me what to do. How old are you, kid?” said the man.
He was also heard saying that he is a “lawyer” and “did not care” when the complainant suggested that they head to a police station.
