IPOH:
The domestic trade and cost of living ministry will meet the five oil companies on Thursday to identify a speedier fleet card issuing mechanism for diesel subsidy applicants under the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS).

Its minister Armizan Mohd Ali said the ministry had taken note of delays in approving company applications for fleet cards, especially in the postpaid category, due to the oil companies needing to check the applicants’ financial status first.

“Because of this and other issues, some fleet card applications take up to a month (to be approved).

“We want to see if the fleet cards can be issued faster, say, in 14 days or less,” he said here today.

Armizan said a total of 165,897 fleet cards had been issued, based on records obtained from the five oil firms as of July 8.

Meanwhile, he said companies listed under the 33 types of public and goods land transportation can apply to participate in SKDS through the MySubsidi Diesel System under his ministry’s regulation, adding that complete applications can be approved immediately.

He said as of today, diesel subsidy applications for a total of 248,887 public and goods land transport vehicles from 88,029 companies have been approved under SKDS.

Companies that have received SKDS approval can directly apply for fleet cards from the five oil companies, which have been integrated into the MySubsidi Diesel System.
