Johor police chief M Kumar said they are investigating the Facebook post by “Kelab Penyokong PAS Malaysia”, Bernama reported.
Kumar said that based on the police report, the post had alleged that Tunku Ismail, popularly known as TMJ, had claimed a director of a division in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had requested a bribe of RM20 million from a foreign entity in January last year.
He said the investigation was being carried out pursuant to Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“The case is under investigation and the public is advised to be responsible social media users and not to use the platform unlawfully,” he said in a statement.
He said the report was made at the Bandar Penawar police station in Kota Tinggi yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday, Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi was reported to have said that his administration would not tolerate any malicious attempt to tarnish the state monarchy’s image.
He described the Facebook post as “irresponsible, disrespectful, and insolent” and said the state government had filed a police report.
