2 nabbed for throwing stones at bus ferrying Perak FC fans

The fans had detained the two suspects, including a teenager, after cornering them at a petrol station.

Police have arrested two youths for throwing stones at a bus ferrying fans of a football club on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE).

The bus was ferrying Perak FC fans who had travelled to watch their team play Selangor FC in a Malaysian Super League match at the MBPJ stadium yesterday.

In a statement, Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Jaafar said the two suspects, aged 17 and 20, had thrown the stones while on a motorcycle.

“After the incident, the two suspects were detained (by the fans) and handed over to the police. Both suspects do not have a criminal record,” he said.

An investigation has been opened under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief. If convicted, they face up to two years in jail, a fine, or both.
