
Shahrizal Denci said most of the vice-presidents were currently busy with efforts to rejuvenate the party. Muda has five vice-presidents.
“Those who say VPs are missing, maybe they are not in the party any more so they don’t know what the VPs are doing now,” he told FMT.
The post by an X user “RombakMUDA” also contained hashtags calling for the party to be saved and for a reshuffle.
Shahrizal dismissed the X account as a parody account.
Speaking about his own efforts, he said he had been focussing on Sabah and Sarawak as part of efforts to rejuvenate the party. “I am meeting the grassroots and doing a lot of ground work.”
Last year, FMT reported that many Muda members had complained about being kept in the dark about the party’s direction and the contents of its constitution. They also said decisions by the party’s top leadership were not conveyed to ordinary members.
In March, it was reported that Muda would hold its party elections at the end of this year instead of next year, because of unhappiness among members with the current leadership.
