
Fared Ramli, 36, the proprietor of Wau Beremas Enterprise, made the plea after the charges were read out before judge Zulkifli Abllah.
He was charged with committing all the offences at a premises in Jalan Sultan Omar, Kampung Chepa, Kubang Kerian, here at 12.30pm on Dec 18, 2022.
On the first to 58th charges, Fared, who holds a diesel wholesale licence, was charged with failing to submit documents and information required by the assistant controller of supply under Section 8(1)(a) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 concerning the purchase of diesel for export purposes.
For the remaining charges, he was alleged to have failed to maintain a record with information about his diesel stock, including dates, prices, names and addresses of sellers or buyers for the sale of the fuel for export purposes.
In failing to do so, he had breached Regulation 13(1) and 21(1) of the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974, which is punishable under Section 22(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
If convicted, he can be jailed for up to three years or fined up to RM1 million, or both.
The prosecution was handled by deputy public prosecutors Sophian Zakaria and Suhana Mohd from the domestic trade and cost of living ministry, while Fared was represented by lawyer Sukri Mohamed.
The court allowed Fared bail of RM100,000 and ordered him to report to the ministry’s headquarters in Putrajaya once a month as well as to surrender his passport.
The court set July 23 for mention.
