Its minister, Armizan Mohd Ali, said letters of approval will be immediately issued to allow transport companies to promptly apply for fleet cards with the fuel companies of their choice.
“Companies with land transport vehicles included in the 33 types (eligible under the SKDS) are encouraged to apply immediately,” he said in a statement today.
The 33 types of land transport vehicles eligible to receive subsidised diesel include school and express buses, general cargo lorries, bottled drinks lorries, refrigerated lorries, luton lorries, prime movers and panel/window vans.
Armizan said transport companies that obtain SKDS approval before June 30 may apply to reimburse their expenses, using their receipts as proof of purchase, until they receive their fleet cards from the fuel companies.
“Reimbursements will be available starting July for those who obtain SKDS approval before June 30. The finance ministry will announce the application and reimbursement procedure soon,” he said.
He said that as of 8am today, 226,957 transport vehicles from 75,541 companies have been approved for diesel subsidies.
