Penang police chief Hamzah Ahmad said four suspects, including a married couple, were arrested on June 6.
The suspects, aged between 20 and 27, included two women.
“Our investigation into the case has been completed and they will be charged in court.
“Police seized jewellery and gold worth RM100,000 and also recovered pawnshop receipts, amounting to RM400,000, from the suspects,” Bernama quoted Hamzah telling a media conference at the Penang police headquarters in George Town.
He said the case was investigated under Section 47 of the Penal Code for housebreaking, and that police believed it had been solved with the arrest of the four suspects.
The suspects broke into Siti Nur Khalieda’s home in Pokok Sena, Kepala Batas, on April 25 and made off with some jewellery and gold.
On June 3, the dessert entrepreneur uploaded a video on her TikTok page claiming no arrests had been made almost 40 days after the incident.
In another development, Hamzah said police have launched an investigation after a Penang customs department officer accidentally shot himself during training on June 11.
He said police have recorded statements from several people and are now waiting for the 42-year-old officer, who is being treated at a hospital, to regain consciousness so they could record his statement.
