PETALING JAYA:
A male doctor was detained by police on suspicion of molesting a woman at a private clinic in Merlimau, Jasin, early this morning.

Jasin police chief Ahmad Jamil Radzi said the 29-year-old man was arrested at 3.15am at Merlimau police station, Berita Harian reported.

Jamil said a 19-year-old female clinic employee made a report at 2.24am claiming she was molested by the doctor at the clinic.

“Upon learning that a report had been filed against him, the doctor turned himself in at the police station and police arrested him.

“The incident is alleged to have occurred while the two were conversing. It was also mentioned that another clinic employee was present then but was unaware of what was happening,” he said.

Police obtained a remand order until Saturday to facilitate investigations under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault with the intent to outrage a person’s modesty.
