Scholarships up for grabs for students from lower-income families

PETALING JAYA:
The Elena Cooke Education Fund is looking to grant scholarships to secondary school students from families with a household income of less than RM60,000 a year.

Named after former Bukit Bintang Girls’ School principal Elena Maud Cooke, the scholarship is for those who recently took their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).

Applicants must have scored at least 3As in their SPM, 2Bs for STPM or 6Bs for the UEC examination. Applications must be submitted by June 17.

They stand to gain a full scholarship at Sunway College, Sunway University or HELP University. Applicants can also opt for a partial scholarship at a public university.
