PETALING JAYA:
A farmer was charged today in the Butterworth sessions court with 10 counts of unnatural intercourse and rape of a 15-year-old girl, the daughter of his neighbour, earlier this month.

The 28-year-old pleaded not guilty when the charges against him were read before judge Zulhazmi Abdullah, Astro Awani reported.

The man is accused of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature and raping her between May 3 and 12.

All the charges were allegedly committed in a room of a house in Lahar Tiang, Kepala Batas, Penang, between 1am and 1.30am.

He was charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code for rape, which provides a jail sentence of up to 20 years and whipping, and Section 377(C) of the same code for unnatural intercourse, which carries the same sentence.

The prosecution was led by deputy public prosecutor Wan Amira Ruzaini Wan Abdul Razak while the accused was unrepresented.

The court did not allow bail for the accused and set June 26 for remention of the case as well as the handover of documents and the medical report.
