
Chin Khiam Kong, 54, and Suhairon Abdullah, 42, who were jointly charged, made the plea after the charges were read to them before judge Azura Alwi.
They were accused of agreeing to receive a RM1 million bribe from Khoo Zixian, who was being investigated by the police.
The incident allegedly took place at the meeting room of the forensic account/cryptocurrency department of the CCID office at Menara KPJ, Jalan Tun Razak, at noon, on April 8.
They were also accused of receiving the sum from Khoo at the Menara KPJ car park at 4pm on the same day.
Both charges were framed under Section 16(a)(B) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and a fine of at least five times the value of the gratification, or RM10,000, whichever is higher, upon conviction.
Separately, Chin, an assistant commissioner of police, was charged with agreeing to receive a bribe of RM250,000 from Khoo, who is also under investigation on suspicion of cheating.
The offence was allegedly committed at the CCID office around noon on April 18.
He was also accused of receiving the bribe from Khoo at a car park behind Menara KPJ between 10.30am and 1pm the following day.
These charges were framed under Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act 2009.
The court set bail at RM40,000 with one surety for each of the defendants and ordered them to surrender their passports until the disposal of the case.
Case mention was fixed for July 30.
