
In a Facebook post, Fadillah said the findings of the inspection would guide the special committee to address congestion at the Johor Causeway, which he chairs.
“Upon reaching BSI, I surveyed the hallway where the shops are located, and the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd station, before proceeding along the pedestrian walkway to the exit to Singapore.
“I continued to (inspect) the passport autogate section, immigration (office), customs scanner system, the motorcycle section using the MBike system and buses,” he added.
Fadillah, who is also the energy transition and water transformation minister, said he met with staff and public transport users at BSI while observing the bus lanes.
He thanked the immigration officers for assisting him and explaining the entry process for tourists.
On May 13, Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi said he was in constant communication with the prime minister and home minister to help resolve the daily congestion issues at the Johor Causeway.
On May 9, Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said the frequent congestion issues reported at the BSI CIQ complex and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex must be resolved without compromise, as both are vital assets for the state’s economic development.
