PETALING JAYA:
National footballer Faisal Halim, who was attacked with acid early this month, has been discharged from hospital.

His club, Selangor FC, said Faisal was discharged after having undergone four surgeries to treat his fourth-degree burns.

It cited his recovery as “truly remarkable and surpasses the expectations of all parties”.

“The club would like to express our utmost gratitude to plastic and reconstructive unit specialist Dr Wan Syazli Rodzaian Wan Ahmad Kamal and all staff of Avisena Specialist Hospital as well as Thompson Hospital Kota Damansara who provided comprehensive care and made significant contributions to Faisal Halim’s recovery,” it said in a statement.

It also extended its appreciation to the Selangor FC family, state and national leaders, government and private agencies, as well as football communities who provided moral support and prayed for Faisal’s recovery.

Faisal was splashed with acid at a shopping mall in Kota Damansara on May 5. The police have put out a photofit of the masked perpetrator but have yet to identify him.
