Penang police chief Hamzah Ahmad said three Myanmar nationals, including a husband and wife, and a local man were arrested at a pondok at a durian orchard in Sungai Ara.
“The local man was released on police bail after his remand order ended on Monday.
“So far, we have received 17 police reports on the case,” Berita Harian quoted Hamzah as saying at a press conference at the Penang island police headquarters today.
There has been outrage over a viral picture of the receipt with a message that apparently came from a customer’s entry in the “delivery instructions” section of the online order.
Domino’s Pizza Malaysia lodged a police report over the offending message, and its spokesman said in a statement the pizza chain had taken “appropriate” action against both the customer and staff member involved.
Barat Daya police chief Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the case is being investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code for words uttered with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting words with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
