PETALING JAYA:
Maybank’s services are back online, after an temporary disruption today barred customers from making debit card transactions, instant transfers, and using its MAE and Maybank2u Biz apps.

In an update at 8.11pm, Maybank announced that its customers would be able to perform their transactions as usual, but would not be able to view their card information.

The bank did not provide further details.

The disruption, announced on the bank’s Facebook page at 6.55pm, saw customers also unable to make cash withdrawals with non-Maybank cards at its automated teller machines (ATM).

Many customers complained on social media about their inability to carry out transactions due to the service outage.

It follows a similar disruption last month affecting its debit cards, online banking and ATM service.

The disruption temporarily prevented customers from making online payments as well as at retail outlets, prompting the central bank to demand an explanation.

The bank did not provide any reason why some of its services were temporarily unavailable.
