Mutang laid to rest in Miri

The former MP from the Lun Bawang tribe was buried at Fairy Park Miri Memorial at 2pm.

MIRI:
Mutang Tagal, the Dewan Negara president who died on May 10, was laid to rest at the Fairy Park Miri Memorial here today.

The funeral was attended by about 1,000 people, including relatives, friends and members of the public.

Earlier, Mutang’s coffin was transported from the BEM Airport Road Church to the BEM Canada Hill Church here for funeral prayers.

The service was also attended by Azerbaijan ambassador to Malaysia Irfan Davudov as well as state deputy minister in the premier’s department, Gerawat Gala, and his wife, Esther Balan.

During the eulogy session, family and friends expressed their appreciation and respects for Mutang.

A video montage showcasing Mutang at work since his appointment as Senate president last February was also played.

Mutang’s body was then taken to the Fairy Park Miri Memorial for burial at 2pm.

Accompanying him on his final journey was his wife, Ho May Leng, and their children, Rining Tagal, Saran Tagal and Bian Tagal, as well as his father, Tagal Paran.
