Jalan Pinang temporarily closed after tree falls

This comes after a large tree came crashing down on Jalan Sultan Ismail last week, killing one man and disrupting monorail services.

PETALING JAYA:
A tree fell at Jalan Pinang in Kuala Lumpur amid heavy rain this afternoon, prompting a temporary closure of the road.

Videos circulating on social media captured the moment the tree crashed onto a vehicle.

There were no reports of injuries.

According to Astro Radio Traffic, the incident blocked the entire road in front of Kuwait Finance House. Clearing work was in progress at the time of writing, and traffic from KLCC was slow.

It advised road users to seek alternative routes as all lanes off Jalan Pinang have been closed.

Last Tuesday, a large tree fell at Jalan Sultan Ismail, resulting in the death of one man and injuring two others while also suspending monorail services.

The tree brought down a covered walkway as it toppled, while some parts landed on the monorail tracks.
