State police chief Alzafny Ahmad said Nilai police received a report of the death that occurred during a police narcotics raid at the apartment.
“The woman is believed to have tried to escape through the balcony of the apartment unit before slipping and falling from the 13th floor,” Bernama reported him as saying today.
Alzafny said a motorcycle patrol unit was sent to the location and found the victim unconscious. A medical team from the Nilai health clinic later pronounced her dead at the scene and sent the body to Rembau Hospital for an autopsy.
“Preliminary investigations have not found any criminal elements. The case has been classified as sudden death, but further investigations are ongoing to secure witness statements,” he said.
Alzafny advised the public to not speculate on the matter as it could disrupt police investigations.
He urged those with information on the case to contact the Nilai police headquarters or the nearest police station.
