The incident, which occurred on May 7 at about 2.10pm, was recorded in a 19-second video.

Images on social media showed water flowing from the ceiling over several counters, and onto computers and printers.

In a statement, JPJ said the overflow was likely caused by water seeping into the building through the roof.

As a safety precaution, JPJ said staff immediately turned off electrical switches.

JPJ also said it was working with the public works department (JKR) to determine the cause and make repairs.

The department has apologised for any inconvenience caused, while saying it is committed to high standards of infrastructure at its facilities.

“Repairs will commence as soon as the cause of the overflow is identified, with JPJ and JKR working closely to prevent future occurrences,” the statement said.
