PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said the party would also hold a thanksgiving ceremony and a dinner to celebrate the sacrifices and contributions of its members.
“The history of the establishment of this party, which began with various trials and tribulations until it matured into PKR’s struggle, culminating in PKR’s involvement in the national government, will be presented in the form of exhibitions, forum discourses and other activities throughout the carnival,” she said.
She was speaking at a press conference here today on the carnival, which some 10,000 visitors are expected to attend.
Nurul Izzah said that in conjunction with the celebration, PKR would also work with government agencies to open mobile counters including summons payment counters, ID card application counters and counters related to halal certification.
She said the carnival would also involve other interesting activities such as traditional folk games, performances by buskers and artistes such as Aisha Retno, Kaka Azraff and Zainal Abidin, and stalls operated by local vendors.
